Robin believes that extensive courtroom and trial experience is essential for a competent judge. Ensuring trials are fair, cases are decided properly, and that sentences are proportionate to the crime are critical judicial functions that require a deep understanding of courtroom dynamics. As the only candidate with 22 years of hands-on experience, Robin has become intimately familiar with judicial proceedings, making the courtroom her second home.
Since 2002, Robin has successfully managed a private practice specializing in criminal defense, family law, landlord/tenant disputes, personal protection orders, driver’s license restoration, and civil litigation. This extensive experience aligns directly with the responsibilities of a district court judge, who oversees criminal, civil, and landlord/tenant cases—areas Robin has been actively involved in for decades.
Robin’s deep familiarity with these practice areas uniquely positions her to effectively preside over and adjudicate a wide range of cases in the district court.

Robin went to court daily, handling all types of criminal cases ranging from traffic violations to assaultive crimes, and worked with clients from their initial court appearance until the matter was adjudicated by way of plea, trial, or otherwise.
Daily court appearances allowed Robin to file and argue motions, conduct evidentiary hearings, and collaborate with court personnel—from administration and probation departments to court staff—ensuring efficient handling of client matters. Her constant presence in the courtroom also kept her informed of legislative and procedural changes as they occurred, allowing her to stay current with evolving legal standards and practices.
Robin not only possesses a deep understanding of the law from the defense perspective but also brings a well-rounded legal background as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Townships of Canton, Plymouth, and Northville. Her deep understanding of the nuances of trial proceedings ensures that those who appear before her will be treated fairly and in accordance with the law.
Treatment courts are specialized court programs aimed at addressing the underlying issues contributing to criminal behavior, such as substance abuse and mental health disorders. Robin’s daily courtroom experience has given her extensive exposure to treatment courts, where she has successfully assisted clients in accessing various programs throughout southeastern Michigan. As a member of the Michigan Association of Treatment Court Professionals and the only candidate with hands-on experience as a team member of a treatment court program, Robin is uniquely positioned to understand and support these critical interventions.
